Safety First (Text-Based Writing)

This Grade 6 writing unit contains a social studies article about preparing for natural disasters and emergencies (Reading Level W) and an opinion writing prompt based on the text. This unit also includes teacher support pages, vocabulary, a reading comprehension activity, and a graphic organizer to help students plan their writing.
