Your Work Can Represent Your Culture: Daymond John's Story (Culturally Responsive Lessons & Activities)

This unit is about Darlisha, a girl who is inspired by Daymond John, founder of the company FUBU and one of the hosts of the show Shark Tank. Daymond John mentors children and young entrepreneurs. Representing his culture in his work is important to him. This unit includes an informational fiction story, discussion prompts, partner activities, and a project menu titled “Representing My Culture” with 4 choices of projects that are either hands-on, creative writing and drawing, or performance-based.
